GOSPEL MUSIC HISTORY:
Gospel music has gone through a major transition from where it originated from to the modern sound of today. Gospel is a type of music that took influence from many different genres that preceded it and generally follows the same composition:

- Combination of blues guitar and evangelistic lyrics

Gospel is a subgenre of Christian music that incorporated sounds of early soul and rock and roll music, as well as being impacted by the smooth blues and country rhythms of the 20th century. Its stylistic origins stem from the Christian hymn, or a (usually religious) song specifically written for the purpose of adoration or prayer. Negro spirituals also played a part in the formation of gospel music.
